Can't pay, Won't pay
'Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect. ' - Mark Twain. I honestly don't know why I quoted Mark Twain there but here goes.
Just from a night out at around 3am; wee hours huh? Myself and three pals David, Kevin and Leakey boarded a taxi to take us home. It was one of those days where all you wanted was to get to your bed and sleep like other normal people. As we approached our estate, we all realised we had no money to pay the cab guy; Uber and Easy Taxi hadn't entered the market yet! We quickly hatched a plot to run as soon as we alighted. On arrival at the estates' gate, we flung wide the doors of the taxi and everybody ran in different directions so as to confuse the cab guy. I however made the biggest mistake by sprinting on a straight path while my friends disappeared in some nearby bushes. The cab driver saw this as an opportunity to get one of us and immediately drove towards me.
Well, the legend Mark Twain said that the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why. I knew very well that this was the day I would find out if I was capable of beating the world champion Usain Bolt should the opportunity arise. My time on earth was almost up I thought to myself as the cab driver was hot on my heels and he was driving as if he was racing against Lewis Hamilton on the last grand prix of the formula one season. I spotted a bend and quickly made an abrupt about-turn leaving the cab guy speeding past me. I then sprinted towards my house gate. Faint and far off I heard his car's engine roaring. By now, the sleeping watchmen had woken up. I had managed to get in my house and I dashed to the bedroom which doubles up as the sitting room; yes, you guessed right I live in a bed-sitter ! I gripped the clothes around me and lay as flat as I could in the bed, my heart beating so that I could hardly breathe but oddly in the top of my head.
I slid out of bed and crept to the window to look. The cab guy was talking to the watchmen who had no slight clue what had happened.
By daybreak I couldn't believe I had managed to escape. I texted my friends and they laughed heartily via emojis of course!
Wow so cute story dear
